MOUNT EVEREST 

Everest Mountains (Nepali: Sagarmatha, Sanskrit: Devagiri) is the highest mountain peak in the world, with an altitude of 8,848.4 m.  By December 2020, the height was 8,848 m. It is part of the Himalayas. Earlier it was known as XV. The height of Mount Everest at that time was 29,002 feet or 8,840 meters. It is said in scientific surveys that its height is increasing by 2 cm every year. In Nepal, it is known by the locals as Sagarmatha (meaning the top of heaven), which was named by the Nepal historian Baburam Acharya in the 1930s - the sky. In Tibet, it has been known as Chomolangma, the queen of mountains for centuries.

K2 (K2, K-Two) is the second highest mountain in the world. It is located in the Baltoro Muztagh sub-range of the Karakoram ranges on the border of the Xinjiang region controlled by China, the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. With a height of 8,611 meters (28,251 ft), this peak is the second highest mountain peak on Earth after Mount Everest.

In 1856, the mountain was first surveyed by Laddon Dhavtin. Thomas Mount Lamri was also with him and named him "Two" (the number of "two" in English) as Karakoram was the top second in the ranges.

K2 is considered more difficult and dangerous than Mount Everest. K2 has climbed only 246 people while Mount Everest has 2238. Till date (true facts in 2014) no one has been able to climb in the winter season.

3. KANGCHENJUNGA

Kanchenjunga (Nepali: Kanchenjunga Kanchanja?gha), (Limbu: Sevalungma) is the third highest mountain peak in the world, it borders Nepal in the northwest part of Sikkim.The name Kanchenjunga derives from four words of Tibetan origin, commonly spelled kang-chhen-dajo -anga or yang-chhen-dajo -anga. In Sikkim it means five funds of huge snow. In Nepal it is called Kumbhakaran Langur.

It is the third highest mountain in the world. Its height is 8,586 meters. It is 74 km from Darjeeling. Located in the northwest. It is also a part of the Himalayan mountain range in the Indian state touching the border of Sikkim and Nepal. The Kanchenjunga mountain is shaped like a giant cross, with its arms located in the north, south, east and west. Separate standing peaks are connected to their adjacent summits by four main mountain ridges, through which four glaciers flow - Jemu (northeast), Talung (south-east), Yalung (south-west) and Kanchenjunga (northwest).

Lhhotse is the fourth highest mountain in the world at 8,516 meters after Mount Everest, K2 and Kanchenjunga. Part of the Everest mass, Lhotse is connected to the later summit via the South Col. In Tibet, Lotus means "South Peak". In addition to the main peak at an altitude of 8,516 meters above sea level, the mountain consists of small peaks of 8,414 meters and Lhotse Shar 8,383 meters (27,503 feet). The summit is on the border between China's Tibet and Nepal's Khumbu region.

An early attempt at Lhotse was made by Norman Derenforth under the 1955 International Himalayan Expedition. It also included two Austrians and two Swiss and was the first expedition in the Everest region to include the Americans. The Nepali Liaison Officer was Gaya Nand Vaidya. He was accompanied by 200 local ports and several climbing Sherpas. After taking a brief look at the dangerous southern approaches to Lhotse Shar, he focused his attention on the western Covum and the northwest face of Lhotsay during September and October, at which he attained a height of about 8,100 meters. He was unexpectedly beaten by strong winds and low temperatures. Under Schneider's direction, he completed the first map of the Everest region. The expedition also made several short films covering local cultural themes and made the first ascent of several small peaks in the Khumb region.

5. MAKALU

Makalu is the fifth highest mountain in the world at 8,485 meters. It is located in the Mahalangur Himalaya, 19 km southeast of Mount Everest in the country of Nepal. One of the eight-thousand, Makalu is an isolated peak shaped four-way pyramid.

Makalu has two notable peaks. Kenchungtse or Makalu II (7,678 m) is located about 3 kilometers north-northwest from the main summit. At a distance of about 5 km north-north-east of the main peak of a wide plateau, and connected by a narrow, 7,200-meter saddle to Kangchungt, is Chomo Lonzo.

The first climb to Makalu was made in the spring of 1954 by an American team led by Riley Keegan. The expedition was made up of members of the Sien Club, including members of California including Alan Steak, and called Makalu the California Himalayan Expedition.

Cho Oyu is the sixth highest mountain in the world at an altitude of 8,188 meters above sea level. Cho Oyu means "Turquoise Goddess" in Tibetan. The mountain is the westernmost major peak of the Khumb sub-section of the Mahalangur Himalaya, 20 km west of Mount Everest. The mountain lies on the Sino-Nepal border.

A few kilometers west of Cho Oyu is Nangpa La, a snow-capped pass that is the main trade route between the Tibetans and the Sherpas of Khumbu. This pass separates the Khumbu and Rolavalinga Himalayas. Due to this pass and the generally moderate slope of the standard northwest ridge route, Cho Oyu is considered the easiest 8,000-meter peak to climb. This is a popular objective for professionally directed parties.Cho Oyu's height originally measured 26,750 feet (8,150 meters) and at the time of the first ascent, it was considered as the seventh highest mountain on earth, at 8,167 meters (26,795 feet) after Dhaulagiri, at 26,658 feet ( Below) was estimated at 8,125 m)). Dhaulagiri's mass in Nepal extends 120 kilometers west of the Kaligandaki River to Bheri. This massif is located to the north and southwest of the tributaries of the Bheri River and to the southeast of the Mayaghat Khole. Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world, situated at an altitude of 8,167 meters above sea level, and the tallest mountain within the boundary of any one country. It was first boarded by a Swiss / Austrian / Nepali expedition on 13 May 1960.

The name of the mountain is Dhaulagiri in Nepali. It comes from Sanskrit where Dhaval means dazzling, white, beautiful and Giri means mountain. Dhaulagiri is also the highest point in the Gandaki river basin.

Manasalu is the eighth highest mountain in the world at an altitude of 8,163 meters above sea level. It is in the Mansiri Himalayas, part of the Nepalese Himalayas, in the west-central part of Nepal. Its name, meaning "mountain of the soul", comes from the Sanskrit word Mansa, which means "intellect" or "soul".Manaslu is the highest peak in Gorkha district and is about 64 km east of Annapurna. The long ridges of the mountain and the glaciers of the valley provide viable viewpoints from all directions and end at a peak that lies deep above its surrounding landscape and is a prominent feature when viewed from a distance.

The Manasalu region offers a variety of trekking options. The 177-km popular Manasula trekking route crosses the Manasulu route, passing near Annapurna. The Nepali government only allowed trekking of this circuit in 1991. The trekking trail follows an ancient salt-trading route along the old Gandaki River

Karakoram is not the western end of the border on the far north side.

Annapurna is a mass in the Himalayas in north-central Nepal that includes peaks of more than 8,000 meters (26,000 ft), thirteen peaks over 7,000 meters (23,000 ft), and sixteen over 6,000 meters (20,000 ft). The mass is 55 kilometers (34 mi) long, and is bounded by the Kali Gandaki gorge to the west, the Marshyangadi River to the north and east, and the Pokhara Valley to the south. At the western end, the mass encloses a high basin known as the Annapurna Sanctuary.

The highest peak of the mass, Annapurna I Main, is the tenth highest mountain in the world at an elevation of 8,091 meters (26,545 ft) above sea level. Maurice Herzog led a French expedition through the North Face to its summit in 1950, making it the first of eight-thousand people to reach a peak of just 8,000 meters on the first try.
